No asbestos danger: kindergarten classes in Rumbeke can open again

Last Friday, the Welfare at Work Service came to evacuate and seal the three kindergarten classes in SBSO Sterrebos in Rumbeke. The children must leave the classroom and are not allowed back in.

The reason is an anonymous tip that explains that the removal of asbestos-containing plates in the ceiling were not removed correctly. That happened during the spring break.

Sample testing

Management vehemently denied the allegations. Now it turns out he was right. “The results of the sample research confirm the research of our own prevention advisor. So there is no asbestos danger,” says Diter Den Baes, director of school group 26.

Classes can reopen tomorrow, Friday at the latest. For the time being, the toddlers could go to other classes.
