Ten Years After Launch: The End of the Nintendo Switch Era in Europe
In a surprising move, Nintendo has announced that it will cease the distribution of the original Switch model in Europe starting in 2027. Since its launch in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch has achieved phenomenal sales, with over 155 million units sold globally. In the past financial year alone, an additional 10.8 million units were sold, even with the release of the successor, Nintendo Switch 2, in June 2026.

As of mid-February 2027, several models will no longer be available at the Nintendo Store or through retail channels. The following products will gradually be phased out:

Additionally, exclusive products such as the following will no longer be available:
