Nilperi Şahinkaya: I’m braver when I’m in love

Nilperi Şahinkaya, who had her first acting experience with ‘Sea Yıldızı’ (2009-2010) during her school years, and who recently appeared in front of the camera in the series ‘Erşan Kuneri’ published on the digital platform, talked about her relationship with sculptor Emre Yusufi, with whom she has been together for three years.

Nilperi Şahinkaya, who was born in Senegal and completed her primary education in Paris and her secondary education in Bern, settled in Ankara in 2003 and graduated from Charles de Gaulle French High School in 2006. She studied at Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts between 2006-2010. The actress, who settled in Istanbul in 2010 after being selected for the TV series “Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki”, gave an interview to Şamdan Plus magazine.

“THAT’S WHEN MY DARKEST SIDE COME OUT”

I am the solver in all bilateral relations. I don’t want to waste my time talking about an unpleasant event that has passed. But if the other person doesn’t help, I get very angry. Usually my darkest side comes out in those moments.

“EMRE IS VERY EMOTIONAL”

I think the best part of being with an artist is that my boyfriend Emre has fun. He always prefers the best of everything. He is very emotional. I’m braver when I’m in love.

“SHAMEFUL”

I can’t sleep without watching something. It’s very embarrassing because I watch things like; a woman is supposedly putting on make-up on you while whispering something. I mean, she’s putting on make up for the camera, it’s like she’s being done to you because you’re watching, and that’s the only thing that makes me sleepy.

“I WANT TO PLAY WITH MY MOM IN THE FILM”

My mother has a delightful autobiographical book called ‘Iran Behind the Mountain’. It would be a great movie script. I would love to play with my mother in that movie.

“EMRE DID THE MEALS AND I DID THE CLEANING”

Nilperi Şahinkaya, who made a statement to Life magazine last April, said, “Emre was with me during the pandemic. We shared the same house for the first time. We are both difficult. For example, Emre does not like food easily. He found the solution in learning how to cook. Cleaning was left to me.”
