The US jeweler Tiffany & Co. has entered into a sneaker cooperation with the sporting goods giant Nike and is thus breaking new ground. This confirmed speculation about a possible collaboration that was circulating on the Internet.
The result is a pair of sneakers called “Legendary Pair” that are a reinterpretation of the Nike Air Force 1 1837. The sneaker will be released on March 7th and is a continuation of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Nike’s Air Force 1 model.
Black suede was chosen for the upper of the sneaker, which is contrasted with the characteristic Nike Swoosh in Tiffany’s characteristic shade of blue. Co-branded silver detailing sits above the heel.
“Each design is both a tribute to the Nike x Tiffany & Co. Air Force 1 1837 and a representation of the House’s unparalleled savoir-faire and craftsmanship,” the brands said in a statement.
The shoe also comes with a limited collection of sterling silver accessories such as a shoehorn, shoe brush and shoelace charms. These cost between 250 and 475 US dollars (around 230 to 437 euros).
The Legendary Pair model will be available in select stores, including two Tiffany & Co. stores in New York City, as well as through Nike’s SNKRS app and select Nike partner stores. The price is 400 US dollars (around 386 euros).
