Selina Friday in Oberstdorf

As of: January 1, 2026 6:26 p.m

The Slovenian Nika Prevc won the Two Nights Tour ahead of Selina Freitag. The day’s victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen went to the Canadian Abigail Strate, who prevailed on New Year’s Day ahead of the Chinese Ping Zeng and Friday.

Inspired by her brother and Four Hills Tournament dominator Domen, ski jumper Nika Prevc wanted to fly away from her competitors on the Two Nights Tour in the second competition.

After the opening victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the 20-year-old wobbled at the wind lottery in Oberstdorf and only made it to the final in 17th place. In the overall tour standings, she was still one point ahead of Selina Freitag, who was fourth after the first round.

Prevc cool in the second round

But Prevc then stayed cool, used her experience and jumped 128.5 meters in the decisive jump, which gave her a jump in the day’s ranking.

Selina Freitag was also able to take advantage of her chance in the adverse conditions; she now had 10 meters less on the display, but more points. She moved ahead of the Slovenian into third place in the daily ranking. In the end, the victory went to the Canadian Strate, who celebrated her first World Cup victory. China’s Zeng came second.

In the overall standings, Prevc continued to be ahead and secured the competition introduced in December 2023 for the third time. Freitag, who was also on the podium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, came second on the tour.

Schmid says goodbye in eleventh place

Katharina Schmid, who is ending her career at the end of the season, had difficult conditions and finished the ski jump in Oberstdorf in eleventh place. “Very emotional“, said Schmid, who ate a few trains. “II really enjoyed it.”

There was no podium place for the ski eagle as she said goodbye, but she did receive a colorful bouquet of flowers. Teammate Agnes Reisch collected a lot of World Cup points in ninth place. Juliane Seyfarth rounded off the good team result in 16th place.

Advertising for the Four Hills Tournament of women

For the ski jumpers, the third edition of the so-called Two Nights Tour was also a kind of balancing act: sell the product as best as possible with the two competitions in Germany – and promote a women’s Four Hills Tournament.
