Night slalom in Madonna – Noël eliminated, Foss-Solevåg wins – alpine skiing – winter sports

Sebastian Foss-Solevåg from Norway won the classic on the Canalone Miramonti slope in 1: 34.59 minutes because the Frenchman Clément Noël, who was clearly leading after the first round, retired shortly before the finish despite a large lead. Noel had triumphed in Val d’Isere. “It’s a shame for Noel, he was the fastest,” said Foss-Solevåg.

Noël lived up to his role as top favorite only in the first round on Wednesday (December 22nd, 21st), when he put down a dream run and went into the final with a clear lead in 45.73 seconds. Second was Alexis Pinturault (France / + 0.10 seconds), third Kristoffer Jakobsen from Sweden (+0.11).

  • German runners played no role

  • Germany’s starter Linus Straßer and the two Austrians Marco Schwarz and Manuel Feller were eliminated in the first round. Already at the fifth goal it was over for Straßer, who had narrowly missed the final as 32nd at the start in Val d’Isere / France.

No German racer made it into the finals of the best 30. Fabian Himmelsbach (Sonthofen / 34th) and Julian Rauchfuss (Mindelheim / 36th) narrowly failed, Anton Tremmel (Rottach-Egern / 48th) clearly. David Ketterer (Schwenningen) dropped out like Straßer.
