Nielson not happy with Beau van Erven Dorens: ‘What do you mean impetuous?!’

Nielson is not happy with the way he was recently announced and questioned in Beau van Erven Dorens’ talk show. “Why was it said ‘tumultuous year’ all the time?”

Nielson’s cheating was very controversial at the end of last year, because he did it with a fan who was cheating enough to spread images of it all. The singer then handled the negative publicity extremely well. How? By putting on the penitent and blaming no one but yourself.

Ruud de Wild critical

Nielson gave his first major interview after this media row to Beau van Erven Dorens a few weeks ago. There he was extensively asked about his cheating. “I’ve been doing this for ten years now and I made a stupid mistake and I’m accountable for it at home,” the singer replied, among other things.

Ruud de Wild, whose girlfriend Olcay Gulsen was in the same broadcast, it made him uncomfortable, he says in his podcast 30 Minutes Raw. “If you’re as big as you, Nielson, why are you sharing private things with the media?” he said. “I saw you talking on television and then I thought: why are you sharing that? It’s none of people’s business, is it?”

‘F*cking Nielson’

It wasn’t really a choice, says Nielson. “This has been brought out by other people. And then you can indeed choose whether you are going to respond to it. I think that’s more the question. In the first instance I did not do that and I mainly let it depend on my wife, because I thought that something of her should remain in that whole story.

Ruud: “Didn’t you think: dude, I’m f * cking Nielson, I’m much and much too big for this?”

Nielson: “No, well, that’s a thought I don’t think I’ve ever had anyway, because I don’t feel as big as you describe now. But I do have what you say of ‘that has nothing to do with you’… I do feel that. And I say it too, but in nicer terms.”

Clickbait

Nielson understands the interest in his private troubles. “I understand the interest. Because I do what I do, you know, that’s kind of a thing. Because if I had just been, I don’t know, a farmer, it wouldn’t have been news at all.”

Ruud: “No, so it has something to do with how big you are. You are a clickbait.”

Nielson: “Yes, I was clickbait for a while. Well, I haven’t been that much in ten years, so it had to happen at some point. But yes, it is. Maybe it’s also something like: okay, bring it on then. You know… What do you want? I mean, I’m human, I just make mistakes.”

Hostage

Ruud: “No, I don’t want to talk about that. I do not care.”

Nielson: “No, but I mean to explain: then I just go for it, so to speak.”

Ruud: “I was more concerned that we almost… I almost saw the kind of hostage-taking by some madman who does something to you and that you are actually forced to do something that is completely private… You don’t have one chosen, do you understand?”

Nielson: “No, I even think you’re right, because I felt a little bit that way when I drove out of there.”

Not happy with Beau

What did Nielson feel as he drove away from Beau? “From: yes, why was it announced all along in the program: ‘Nielson has had a turbulent time’, when in the end I just come there to play a nice new song and let them know that I’m going on tour ?”

He concludes: “So yes, I don’t have to, but the program then decides that it is interesting. Aren’t you going then? Or are you at least going to tell the people who like you what you want to say and deal with it?”
