Borussia Dortmund lost the top game against FC Bayern 2-3. While a BVB star is doing acrobatics, a national player is falling off. The individual criticism.

It was once again a top game that deserved its name. BVB and FC Bayern fought a big battle for 90 minutes on Saturday evening, in which the Munich team came out on top. FCB prevailed 3-2 and extended their lead at the top of the table to eleven points.

“It was an all-in game for us. You can’t blame us for not putting everything into it,” complained Nico Schlotterbeck after the final whistle on Sky: “In the end it just didn’t work out for us.”

The national player had missed the last few games due to muscular problems, but was now back in the Dortmund starting eleven against Bayern for the first time since the beginning of February. He had an eventful evening: Schlotterbeck was lucky not to have been sent off after a tough start. He gave BVB the lead, but also conceded a penalty.

You can read what grade Schlotterbeck received for this performance and how the rest of the Dortmund team performed in the photo show above or here.

Borussia Dortmund, now eleven points behind FC Bayern, will probably have to give up their last chance for the title this season and look downwards. Hoffenheim is third, six points behind BVB. However, the black and yellow lead over fifth place is already eleven points.
