There has been speculation for a few weeks, now it’s official. Niclas Füllkrug is leaving the Premier League

National player Niclas Füllkrug is moving to the traditional club AC Milan. The 19-time Italian champion is loaning the 32-year-old striker from English first division club West Ham United until the end of the season. Serie A announced this to the clubs on Friday.

Milan also reportedly secured a purchase option. It was initially unclear whether Füllkrug was already in the squad for the evening’s game at Cagliari Calcio. He had already been training with his new employer in the past few days.

Füllkrug was hardly used in the Premier League recently and he also had to repeatedly struggle with injuries. The striker moved to the island from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for 27 million euros. For the “Hammers”, Füllkrug only scored three goals in 29 competitive games.

Füllkrug also wants to secure his World Cup ticket with good performances in Milan. National coach Julian Nagelsmann recently called for “more match practice” for the fan favorite.
