For weeks, Nicki Minaj has been criticized for her public and vehement support for Donald Trump’s administration. With her commitment, the rapper is dividing the public: on the one hand, the MAGA movement is behind her, and on the other hand, she is receiving massive criticism for her actions. Now the next climax is approaching – at least from their point of view.
Joint event with the President
The musician will soon be seen directly alongside US President Donald Trump. She will take part in an upcoming event that will celebrate the launch of the so-called “Trump accounts”. The celebrations will take place on January 28th, 2026, and the artist confirmed her participation on January 24th, 2026 via X.
The US Treasury Department event will be held in Washington DC and will mark the launch of a new government private retirement program to support children. Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be keynote speakers. Nicki Minaj’s exact role during the celebration is not yet known.
Great anticipation
The 12-time Grammy-nominated artist makes no secret of her anticipation. In another post, she expressed her excitement about soon being able to stand side by side with other supporters of the MAGA movement. She responded to a list of participants that included her with a picture of herself in front of the American flag. Other well-known Trump supporters on site will include Kevin O’Leary, Cheryl Hines, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The performer also wrote: “This is the true meaning of ‘passing on the good’.” She continued: “Early financial education and support for our children gives them a decisive head start in life. In some cases, they will even teach their own parents how and what to invest. That makes me very happy.”
Unfazed by criticism
The increasing criticism of her praise for the US President does not seem to be dissuading the 43-year-old from her path. Another action always follows: After she appeared next to Erika Kirk at a “Turning Point USA” event and verbally derailed the freelance journalist Don Lemon in mid-January 2026 and severely insulted him, the upcoming appearance with the President marks the climax of her love for Trump so far.
However, the backlash is also tough: thousands signed a petition calling for the musician to be deported back to her homeland of Trinidad. This is due to the fact that she announced in 2024 and recently that she was not a US citizen.
