Nick Woltemade switched to the Premier League for Newcastle United for a lot of money. His first game could hardly have gone better.

Successful debut for Nick Woltemade in the Premier League: The newcomer from Newcastle United scored the crucial goal in 1-0 (1-0) against the Wolverhampton Wanderers – and with his head.

After the change from Newcastles Alexander Isak to FC Liverpool, the German international was directly in the “Magpies” starting eleven and led his new team to the first win of the season in the 30th minute. After 65 minutes, Woltemade was replaced by William Osula.

Before his debut, Woltemade had emphasized that he was looking forward to the new task. “I think the Newcastle project is very horny,” he said: “I feel like the task, I feel like the challenge. That’s why I’m here.” In the game, he not only showed himself dangerous, but was also involved in several offensive campaigns.

A few days ago, Woltemade had had to take whistle at the international match of the German national team against Northern Ireland (3-1) during his replacement in Cologne. In Newcastle, the reception was much friendlier: The fans in St. James’ Park celebrated him euphorically after his goal and said goodbye to applause when he was replaced.

Already on Thursday (9:00 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online), the 85 million euro access could be used again-in the home game of the Champions League against Barcelona.
