Jack Antonoff announced at the end of January that he created the soundtrack for the new Apple TV+ series, “The New Look”, and worked with numerous renowned artists. After Florence And The Machine, The 1975 and Lana Del Rey, Nick Cave is now the fourth artist to publish his contribution – it’s a cover of Édith Piaf’s “La Vie En Rose”.
The piece that the singer chose for his soundtrack contribution is almost 80 years old. Now Cave breathes new life into the 1947 classic and interprets the piece in his own unique way.
The song expresses the happiness of finding true love while also reflecting on the life situations of people during World War II.

In total, ten artists will contribute cover songs to the series – all with the help of Jack Antonoff’s production skills. The full album for “The New Look” will be released on April 3rd and, in addition to the previous four, will also contain works by Perfume Genius, Beabadoobee, Joy Oladokun, Bartees Strange, Sam Dew and the Bleachers. For the artist, it is the first LP that he released on his own label, Shadow of the City, a sub-label of Dirty Hit. His work accompanies the story of the fashion designer Christian Dior with new musical interpretations. All songs come from the early and middle 20th century and were particularly influenced by the war.
