With Myron van Brederode and Mayckel Lahdo in the base, Jong AZ won against Roda JC in front of its own audience, 2-0. Goal scorers on the Alkmaar side were Zico Buurmeester and Yusuf Barasi. Due to the win, the team of trainer Maarten Martens is now fifth in the first division.
It was equally clear that Jong AZ was having a great season. Convincing and often with good football, the Alkmaar talents regularly beat superpowers in the first division. For example, NAC (4-0), MVV (3-1), VVV Venlo (2-1) had to believe it. And now Jong AZ played an excellent match against Roda JC on Monday evening.
Nice opening goal
Goals were scored before half time. Zico Buurmeester’s 1-0 in particular was of great class. The attacking midfielder combined in the small space with Yusuf Barasi and finished off nicely after a nice cut. And just before the tea break, Barasi itself was the final station.
