Mihajlovic was struck by leukemia in 2019. He recovered after a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy but now says he is dealing with a relapse. According to the Serbian trainer, his situation is less serious than three years ago.
Mihajlovic therefore has to miss a few Bologna matches. “I hope it doesn’t take too long,” said the former star player of Sampdoria and Lazio, among others. “You know me: I will do everything I can to make my absence as short as possible. But I will certainly not be there for some matches.”
Learn a lesson
“It is very brave of that disease to come close to me again,” Mihajlovic added with a smile. “But I’ll teach him a lesson again.”
The 53-year-old Mihajlovic played football for AS Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Internazionale.
