The German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl is currently not available to the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL for personal reasons. As the Canadians announced, the Cologne resident will travel to Germany due to an illness within the family. According to the Oilers, Draisaitl is expected to return to the team at the end of next week.
The franchise did not provide any details. βOn behalf of Leon, the club requests privacy,β the short message concluded.
Draisaitl, the Oilers’ second-best scorer behind Connor McDavid, is expected to miss Edmonton’s games against the Vancouver Canucks as well as against the St. Louis Blues and the New Jersey Devils. The top striker could also miss the games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals next weekend.
