NHL: Leon Draisaitl’s Edmonton Oilers win ‘Battle of Alberta’

The German ice hockey superstar Leon Draisaitl celebrated a prestigious success in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers.

The 27-year-old won with the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday (12/28/2022, local time) in the “Battle of Alberta” with 2:1 at the Calgary Flames and contributed an assist to teammate Connor McDavid’s winning goal.

With that they overtake Oilers in the table of Western Conference the Flames and are currently occupying one of the two wildcard– Seats that would qualify for playoff participation.

Stützle scores at Ottawa’s success

Tim Stützle also sat down with the Ottawa Senators against the Boston Bruins 3:2 after a penalty shootout. The Canadians ended their negative series of three defeats in a row. Stützle brought them senators in the lead in the second third, but later in the penalty shoot-out he was not successful.

Nico Sturm, on the other hand, suffered a defeat. The 27-year-old lost with the San Jose Sharks 2:6 at the Vancouver Canucks. Both St Louis Blues goalkeeper Thomas Greiss was not used, the team lost 4:5 after extra time against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
