As of: December 31, 2023 10:37 a.m

The Edmonton Oilers around Leon Draisaitl continue to advance in the NHL. Against the Los Angeles Kings there was the fourth win in a row on Sunday night (December 31, 2023) with a score of 3:2 (0:2, 2:0, 0:0) after a penalty shootout.

Draisaitl failed in his attempt in the decisive shootout, but with his 16th goal of the season he made it 2-2 and ensured that the game went into extra time. In addition to the German star player, Connor McDavid also impressed in his 600th NHL game. The Canadian scored the first Oilers goal, set up Draisaitl’s goal and was also successful in the penalty shootout. After a completely unsuccessful start to the season including a change of coach, Edmonton now at least has a clear view of the playoff places again
