Cloudflare acts as a kind of digital traffic controller and protects websites against cyber attacks. Platform X and its paid service X Pro, among others, did not work, but also the sites of VVD, D66 and Alzheimer Nederland, for example. The sites showed a message that there was an internal server error on Cloudflare’s network.
According to Cloudflare’s status page, the company is investigating “an issue affecting multiple users.” The outage started around the time maintenance was scheduled for a data center in the Chilean capital Santiago, although it is not yet clear whether this is related to the problems.
The situation seems unstable for the time being, it is not clear when everything will be fully online again.
