The Burgerweeshuis, the main location of the Amsterdam Museum, is now deserted. Yet there is still activity behind the scenes. In the regent’s room and the adjacent cash office, experts work on the ceiling, where small paint particles are peeling from the painting.
Fundraiser Marije Fokkema is also not sitting still. We are responsible for the design and programming ourselves and we have to raise money for this.”
