He showed strong performances on the field last season. Apart from that, Puka Nacua attracted negative attention – and is now apparently drawing conclusions.

Los Angeles Rams NFL receiver Puka Nacua has voluntarily checked into a private facility. His lawyer told the AFP news agency. The 24-year-old recently caused a stir, and not just on the field.

According to the lawyer, Nacua went to the facility “to concentrate on his health, his personal development and his general fulfillment.” What treatment Nacua is receiving was not disclosed. The decision came before a lawsuit filed against him and was unrelated to it.

Nacua was impressive in terms of sport last season. He led the NFL with 129 receptions, scored 1,715 yards and led the Rams to the playoff semifinals.

He came under criticism off the field. In December, he apologized after making an anti-Semitic gesture during a livestreamed appearance. In March, a woman filed a lawsuit against him. She claimed Nacua made an anti-Semitic statement and bit her on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles. His lawyer dismissed the anti-Semitism accusation as a “blatant lie” and described the bite as a “tussle.”

In his statement, the lawyer stated: “Puka takes responsibility for his well-being and increasing his performance during the off-season.”
