The Green Bay Packers are in the NFL playoffs after a 34-0 (21-0) home win over the New Orleans Saints.

Head coach Matt LaFleur’s team is the first team in the North American Football League to celebrate a win without conceding points this season. For the Packers, it is the first so-called “shutout” since November 2021; the team from Wisconsin last had a higher win in November 2014.

The Saints did not score in an NFL game for the first time since November 2022.

Packers already lead 21-0 at halftime

The Packers dominated from the start, scoring a touchdown on their first three drives and leading 21-0 midway through the second quarter. At the start, Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw a touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks, Josh Jacob and Chris Brooks and, shortly before the end of the game, Emanuel Wilson ran into the end zone.

Strong NFC North with three teams in the playoffs

In the NFC North, the Packers are only in third place with eleven wins and four defeats behind the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings (13 wins and two defeats each), but they now have a wild card spot for the playoffs. The Saints, who were weakened without quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara, among others, had no chance of making it to the finals before the game.
