Pier Eringa has immediately resigned as chairman of the supervisory board of Ajax. He will hand over his duties in the coming days and will formally resign on October 2, 2023.
“Especially when things are not going well, I think you should be there as a supervisor,” he said just before the resumption of the match against Feyenoord, which was halted on Sunday.
“But I am not deaf to the criticism and not blind to the situation Ajax is now in. For that reason I have decided to make room for a new chairman. I have worked hard for the club. I will remain Ajax as follow the fan and wish that the sporting performance will soon return to the level desired by Ajax.”
