After another debacle, the German water polo players are playing for ninth place at the European Championships in Split.
The team of national coach Sven Schulz lost the final group game against the Netherlands on Saturday with 3:29 (0:9, 1:7, 0:7, 2:6) and with only one win from five games occupies fifth place in the Preliminary Group A
On Monday (11.30 a.m.) the newly formed and much younger selection of the German Swimming Association (DSV) meets Serbia.
At the last European Championships in Budapest two years ago, the German team beat the Serbs in the game for eleventh place.
