Next staff dampers for Germany’s slalom canoeists. After Canadier specialist Sideris Tasiadis had to cancel his participation in the World Championships, the four -time world champion Hannes Aigner also fails to fail.

“This is the next setback for us,” said head coach Klaus Pohlen: “We have now lost two very experienced athletes in the team.”

Aigner had finished sixth at the World Cup final last weekend in Augsburg.

The two-time Olympic third said: “Unfortunately, due to a sports injury that I sustained last week, I can’t start at the Kanu-Slalom World Cup 2025 in Penrith. I find it very difficult-it would have been my tenth world championship.”

It is also bitter for the kayak men’s team: together with Noah Hegge and Stefan Hengst, they hoped for a medal in the team competition.

The World Cup near Sydney will take place from September 29 to October 4th.
