Leonardo joins the youth teams, moving from under 17 to under 19, and then moving on to the under-23 team. Later he also played 15 games with Braga B, in the Portuguese third division. Last summer he definitively moved to the first team and collected his first appearances among the greats. Also from the point of view of the national team, Buta made a lot of talk about himself: he played 15 games between under-17 and under-18, before making his debut last March with the Portugal under-20 shirt.
