We always highlight it with respect to Japanese anime: the enormous creativity when designing the beautiful and the monstrous, the sometimes overwhelming exuberance of each of the achievements that (luckily) we can see lately. In this case, the dark reflects the emotions of the protagonists: a young man whose childhood sweetheart, killed in an accident, returns in a monstrous way to protect him. Subtly, the design reflects those emotions that have to do with the possibilities and impossibilities of love and with impotence transformed into anger. The “0” in the title refers to the fact that this film is an origin story for an anime (also manga, as is usually the tradition) that is very successful. The film lives by itself, without the need for us to know the mythology it supports. It is what most horror films are: a melodrama whose emotional force is transformed into a visual explosion on the screen.
