Andrea, how were your beginnings in the world of Art?

My passion for Art began as a child, when the attraction to shapes and colors transported me to another world.

I come from a family that loves Art in all its expressions. My mother drew and my father had the ability to value new ideas and solve challenges with ingenuity.

I did different disciplines, but my true passion is painting.

What is your academic background?

I studied History of Art at the MNBA and Modelo Vivo and I dedicated myself to figuration for years. At the same time, I studied different studies with renowned masters, such as Marcelo Albinati and Ernesto Pesce, among others, who taught me multiple techniques and concepts.

I am currently expanding my career in Clinics and Work Processes.

What are the techniques you perform and what do you seek to instill with them?

Ten years ago I moved away from Figuration, to dedicate myself to Abstract Expressionism and be able to represent my emotions and moods in the most direct way possible. An adventure into the unknown, as Mark Rothko quoted.

My work is the constant search to express and manifest my “inner being”, where the love for nature is my “fundamental stone”.

Currently my method is playful and organic. I articulate nature with my present state, connecting from the inside out with my energy and essence.

Creativity helps me grow as a person and trust myself. We need more good people, with simple tastes, with the desire to hug tight, to tell the truth and to love without fear. Art, in my opinion, is that. Have creative instinct above beliefs, and surrender to being, without thinking about the result. Enjoy the process without knowing the final result, so I can express in the work what I live from my guts.

Being curious when creating is very important in my life, I could never automate myself, I always find new challenges, in each canvas or support I use.

What projects are you dabbling in?

My current series, “CORTEZAS”, which I love and was born in the middle of the pandemic, is, to this day, a mutual love! Suddenly I see myself hugging the trees and their bark, which are everything and which transports me.

In this series I use the mixed technique, where the imprint of the stroke of the brushstroke and the colors refer me to the bark of the trees, and I make a parallelism with “the layers of the life of human beings”.

I combine papers from old encyclopedias, painted and dyed, acrylic, graphite and oil. Then I draw on them, which is of paramount importance when it comes to composition.

That world of textures is the path of superposition where I am recreating my own history, my own layers and layers in each work.

Currently I have works in Argentina, New York, São Paulo and Paris. In turn, I do my work in my studio in Olivos in the province of Buenos Aires.

Do you teach your artistic methods?

I gave classes to children and adults accompanying them in their own creative process, in Buenos Aires, in Patagonia and abroad.

Seeing the expression and genuine love of the children, of being themselves, is what gave me the most satisfaction as a teacher. I always told them: “trust your dreams”.

In addition, I carry out collective and individual exhibitions. I also participate in solidarity actions, donating work and doing my bit with all my heart.

What are your goals?

I have many challenges ahead, such as showing and expressing my true self and my emotions in each work, and that it reaches all corners of my beloved country and abroad; study Art Therapy as a therapeutic tool for children and adolescents; and immerse myself in the world of NFTs, which is less expensive, to be able to project into the future.
