New wolf cubs seen in the Veluwe | Inland

It is not yet clear who the parents are. It may be a female wolf from the Barnstorf pack in Lower Saxony in Germany. She was first seen in the Netherlands in May last year. The male may be one of the young of a pack born on the North Veluwe.

It is the first time since the wolf’s return to the Netherlands that cubs have been born on the South Veluwe, the Mammal Association said. Earlier this summer, young were born in other areas of the Veluwe. Last week, a wildlife camera also captured images of three wolf cubs in the woods on the border of Drenthe and Friesland.

The association calls on hikers and other people in the area to keep their distance from the cubs. If people come near, the parents may not dare to approach the fry, leaving them unprotected. People can, however, send photos and videos, taken from an appropriate distance, to the Wolvenmeldpunt.
