The name Luka Vuskovic (18) has been circulating around the people’s park of Hamburger SV for some time. The Croatian is probably one of the biggest central defender talents in world football and could imagine moving to HSV. But how does his club Tottenham Hotspur plan with him? And isn’t he actually a number too big for the Bundesliga promoted?

It was none other than Mario Vuskovic (23) who sparked the hope of HSV fans. The older brother has been with the red pants since summer 2021, but has been closed to a total of four years since November 15, 2022 due to a positive doping test. The longing of many HSV fans to Vuskovic is huge-and this is no longer just Mario, but also Luka. “He would like to play for the HSV and not say no to an offer,” said the big brother recently in an interview with the “Hamburger Abendblatt”. “Luka loves the HSV, just because the club and the fans are always behind me. When he witnessed the promotion party in the Volksparkstadion, he was impressed by how big the club is and how incredible the fans are.” Luka subsequently dropped a post with photos from the celebrations on Instagram and labeled it with “HSV” and a blue heart. Then numerous fans in the comments asked him to switch to their club.
Ultimately, Tottenham decides “what is the best for his development,” said Brother Mario. As early as 2023, the Spurs had secured the services of the younger Vuskovic as an anticipation of this summer. 11 million euros transfer flowed to Hajduk Split, from where Mario had switched to HSV. In the meantime, Luka was awarded to Radomiak Radom (Poland) and KVC Westerlo (Belgium), and at the last station – thanks to seven goals – he was able to increase its market value from 7 million to EUR 12 million. This would make it in the HSV squad that he would leave the current number one Ransford Königsdörffer (6 million) significantly behind.

Vuskovic started the preparation with Tottenham, and he shone against FC Reading (2-0) with a goal and a template in mid -July – mind you within just eight minutes after his substitution for the break and as a defender. He has conquered the hearts of Tottenham fans in a storm. “Talents are often praised in the sky, but Luka Vuskovic deserves any promotions of his skills,” says Felix Bittel, the Tottenham fan and co-founder of the German-language blog “On the Lane“Is.” He is The Next Big Thing and brings the whole package. He is extremely physical, very dangerous for a defender, and what he is able to do in the passing game is hardly able to see somewhere else in his age group. In everything he does, he looks more mature and more experienced than it is. ” Bittel sees areas in which Vuskovic could improve in the speed and defending the half -spaces.
So Tottenham Hotspur with HSV destination Luka Vuskovic plans
Now the situation in the central defense of the Nordlondoners is as follows: There are a total of eight players for this position, four of which have a higher market value than Luka. The most valuable are Cristian Romero (27) and Micky van de Ven (24) with 50 million euros each, followed by Radu Drăgușin (23) and Kevin Danso (26) with EUR 25 million. However, Drăguşin was still out for a while with a cruciate ligament rupture and the other professionals had been for a long time due to injury last season – together they had missed 67 games. Against this background, should Tottenham keep Vuskovic as a back-up or give it for regular playing time?
According to journalist Alasdair Gold, the Spurs have decided to temporarily hand in the Youngster. Vuskovic should continue to improve somewhere else, but a purchase option will not be granted. “I assumed that Vuskovic will be number four this season and could push past Kevin Danso in perspective. In my opinion, he is already good enough to get a significant playing time with the Spurs. I would be more likely to keep it, but if a loan, he would be on the pitch every weekend,” says Tottenham expert Bittel.
This is where the HSV comes into play, in which seven central defenders are in the squad on Thursday after the obligation of Warmed Omari (25), but those responsible should nevertheless deal with Vuskovic. The Hamburgers are said to have intensified the contact again, but a loan would probably only be realized if the Spurs take over a large part of the salary. If Vuskovic switched to HSV, only three players would ever have had a higher market value on arrival.
Luka Vuskovic as a “no-brainer” for HSV
Vuskovic has been a much discussed topic among the HSV fans since participating in the promotion party at the latest. “If you were to get Vuskovic, that would be very strong. I had actually already ticked off the topic, but since he absolutely wanted to go to us and would probably also be set as a regular, I see our chances as not that bad,” commented user “Raubenseher” in the TM rumor mill. In May, he had considered the probability of a loan business as “rather low”: “There would also be a good level of Tottenham sympathy for our club and the fate of his brother Mario that would be involved, especially since he would probably also be open to other ways of loan. Certainly no boredom would arise because it can be assumed that quite a lot of attacks on our goal will take place. ” User “Ab1Topscout” described a potential obligation as a “no-brainer”, that is, as a decision, which is so simple that it does not require much consideration.
At the latest on Monday, September 1, when the transfer window closes, everyone is smarter whether a Vuskovic will play for the HSV after almost three years. Everything would be done for this, after all, the jersey with number 44 and the right name is still available in the fanshop, and Vuskovic still has its place in the cabin.
