The Premier League will be played under a new format this year. Each round, the darters play a mini-tournament according to a knock-out system, starting with four quarter-finals. Anderson will face his compatriot Peter Wright in the semifinals, who defeated England’s Michael Smith 6-3.
Last season, Van Gerwen, five-time winner of the Premier League, did not make the play-offs.
