The police arrested a 35-year-old man from Oss on Friday night for possible involvement in the death of a 47-year-old man from Berghem. A 33-year-old man who was arrested earlier in the day in Berghem is no longer a suspect.
Police investigation shows that the previously arrested 33-year-old man from Berghem had nothing to do with the death, the police reported on Saturday morning.
The 47-year-old victim was a youth leader at Berghem Sport football club. Due to the man’s sudden death, all home games at the club have been canceled this weekend. The club said in a statement that it was ‘deeply affected’.
“We are receiving signals that a photo of this man is circulating,” the police said. “We strongly urge you not to spread it.” What happened to the victim and under what circumstances it happened is being investigated. The 35-year-old man from Oss is in custody and will be interrogated later.
