Drenthe entrepreneurs in small and medium-sized businesses who want to innovate can claim new subsidies. The first scheme will open next Tuesday. In June, entrepreneurs can rely on the second subsidy pot.

The government and the northern provinces are released a total of 7 million euros to help entrepreneurs in the Northern Netherlands with innovations.

Deputy Willemien Meeuwissen (VVD): “As a Drenthe SME, do you have an innovative idea for a product, process or service and do you want to know if it is feasible? With these subsidies you get the chance to further investigate and develop your innovation.”

With the first subsidy (mit feasibility) of which the application round will open on 8 April, entrepreneurs can have a feasibility study done. This makes it clearer whether the innovative idea is economically and technically feasible. With this subsidy, up to 35 percent of the costs for, for example, material, hours and engaging an expert can be reimbursed. The maximum subsidy amount is 20,000 euros per project.

The other subsidy (MIT R&D collaboration) will open from 10 June. The money can go to entrepreneurs who work together on a project. With the money, a new (prototype) product, service or process is developed that has a chance of success on the market. A subsidy amount may cover a maximum of 35 percent of the costs.
