The German shoe provider Birkenstock has expanded its presence in Spain. On Wednesday, the traditional brand opened a new store in the Basque coastal town of San Sebastián (Donostia).

At the centrally located pedestrian zone Calle Churruca, the label now offers its shoe classics and current models on an area of ​​120 square meters. The establishment of the store reflects Birkenstock’s “Confession to Crafts’ Art” and combines “regional natural materials with the core values ​​of the brand”, the company said on Wednesday on the occasion of the opening.

According to its own statements, Birkenstock now operates 39 own stores in Europe. Further new openings are already planned for the future, according to a message. In the past few weeks, the company had also inaugurated new shops in the USA and China.
