Actually, the airline Emirates wanted to be the new main sponsor of FC Bayern – but failed. Now there is probably still an agreement with the club.
The airline Emirates apparently gets in as a sponsor at FC Bayern. The “Sport Bild” reports. Accordingly, the company from Dubai becomes so-called “platinum partner” of Bavaria. According to the main partners, the “platinum partners” represent the second highest ranks of partners of the club.
According to the “Sport Bild”, the contract runs between FC Bayern and the airline until 2032 and is to bring the German record champions around five million euros annually. A special feature of the deal: Bayern can only fly with Emirates on abroad, because within Germany the airline is not allowed to offer flights. For Bundesliga and DFB Cup games, the Munich people have to change.
The deal is also special because Emirates usually only takes over main sponsorships, so they also want to find itself on the jerseys of the clubs. According to the report, they failed at Bayern. The club and the company from Dubai had negotiated for many months, but in the end Bayern stayed with their previous main sponsor Telekom. According to the “Bild” newspaper, the German mobile phone company pays up to 65 million euros a year.
The negotiations between FC Bayern and Emirates then continued – and now came to a successful conclusion. So far, Emirates has been the main sponsor of the clubs Real Madrid, FC Arsenal, AC Milan and Benfica Lisbon for years.
