The retailer KIK Textiles and Non-Food GmbH is now based on artificial intelligence (AI) in its internal processes. On Monday, the company, based in Bönen, announced that it introduced a “modern, AI-based software solution for its planning and distribution processes”.

The new platform for which the AI specialist IMPACT Analytics based in Bangaluru was won as a software partner, “its planning and pricing as well as its existing and merchandise management in the future allow the discounter to be controlled in the future,” says a statement.

The discounter hopes for “noticeable increases in effectiveness”

According to KIK, the core element of the solution is “a precise forecast that serves as the basis for all planning decisions”. The aim is to “make the distribution of goods even more targeted, more needs -oriented and economical – tailored to the specific requirements of each individual branch,” said the retailer.

Felix Vetter, Managing Director Merchandise Planning, Controlling & Development at KIK, hopes for the software very specific advantages. “With the new all-in-one solution, we can make sound decisions related to our product planning based on real-time data,” he said in a statement. “This platform will bring us noticeable increases in effectiveness in all areas of planning and control.”
