New sewerage system in provincial domain d’Aertrycke to improve water quality

The Province is systematically working to improve the water quality in its domains. In an earlier inventory of discharge points on the provincial domain, she established that wastewater was discharged at various places into the ponds and surrounding waterways, and from there into the Moubeek.

The construction of the new separate sewer system ensures that all waste water in the domain is collected and then discharged into the municipal sewage system in Consciencestraat. This concerns the waste water from the castle, the brasserie and the house.

Rainwater collection

At the same time, the Province is making efforts to collect rainwater runoff and rainwater. Three of the castle’s unused rainwater wells have now been re-enabled to collect rainwater. Rainwater wells are now also provided for the brasserie and the house on the domain to enable reuse of rainwater.

Total cost: 591,466.25 euros.
