New Scheldt tunnel opens year earlier: Flanders is aiming on January 1, 2030 due to rising costs

Flanders wants to open the new Scheldt tunnel of the Oosterweel connection on January 1, 2030. That is a year earlier than foreseen, because so far it has been aimed at the end of December 2030. The new date can be read in the progress report of the Oosterweelwerken that Belga could look up. The intention is to compensate for part of the rising costs with the faster opening.
