There will be a new location for the downhill skiing cup next season, or actually two. Gran Becca is the first track in the history of the Alpine Skiing World Cup to run in the two countries.

Alpinists kick themselves up in Gobba di Rillini, Switzerland, and goalie runners outperform Italy’s Laghi Cime Bianche.

The track is located in the region of Cervinia (Italy) and Zermatt (Switzerland) in the landscape of the Matterhorn, which is well known to Finnish skiers.

The Olympic winner designed

Gran Beccan has designed the Vancouver Olympics downhill gold medalist, Swiss Didier Defago.

Gran Becca is a downhill slope about four kilometers long. There are three jumps on the track and the steepest point is 60 degrees.

The opening race of the Men’s Downhill World Cup will be held on the slope from 29 to 30. October. Women are pumping adrenaline in the same place a week later.
