Nicolay Merkt has found a new job at the ailing department store group Galeria.
Merkt has been Chief Customer Officer at Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof GmbH since March 1st, a spokesman confirmed when asked by FashionUnited. He announced his new position on the LinkedIn careers network on Wednesday. He had great talks with the Essen department store group and CEO Miguel Müllenbach and has been active in the company since March. In this position he takes care of marketing and e-commerce.
“We are pleased to have Nicolay Merkt, an experienced expert in the field of digital transformation, on board and wish him every success in his new role,” said Galeria.
Mekrt joins Galeria from P&C Düsseldorf
Merkt previously worked at Peek & Cloppenburg KG Düsseldorf. At the fashion retailer, he was active as managing director of the now closed online shop Fashion ID until May 2022 and has had a non-competition clause since then. This also applied to his role as Director Digital and Online Marketing at Peek & Cloppenburg.
