The Environment Department has now accepted the additional documents for Ventilus’ environmental permit application. As a result, a second public inquiry will start on Friday, February 6, and will run until Saturday, March 7, 2026. These are adjustments that grid operator Elia implemented after the first public inquiry.
According to Elia, extra time was needed to thoroughly study and process the many advice, questions and objections. More than 2,500 objections were submitted during the first public inquiry. These have now been inventoried and analyzed by the Environment Department. It is therefore not necessary to resubmit those objections.
