There will also be new infrastructure for handling cruise ships. A new terminal building and the redesign of the quay area should make the experience for arriving and departing passengers and for local residents more pleasant,” says the port. “Buses are no longer needed to take passengers from the ship to and from the terminal building, which ensures a smoother flow for passengers and reduces the impact on the environment. The buses with which the passengers travel afterwards also drive directly from the site via a new entrance and exit on Kustlaan.”
“The master plan that the Port Authority has in mind converts part of the current quay into green space that “gives back” to the environment. The old railway line will also be given a new purpose with walking and cycling paths.”
