JW (Jan Willem) Boersma has been appointed mayor of the municipality of Alblasserdam. The appointment will take effect on March 30, 2023.

Mr. Boersma (55 years old) is a member of the ChristenUnie. He is currently strategic policy advisor at the Regional Information and Expertise Center (RIEC) Rotterdam.
Jan Heijkoop (CDA) is currently acting mayor of Alblasserdam.
