Both parents automatically have parental authority
When a child is recognized, both parents automatically have joint parental authority. If a child is recognized at the town hall after 1 January 2023, the parents no longer have to submit a request to the court for an entry of joint custody in the custody register. Some exceptions apply. For example, parents who do not wish automatic parental authority to arise can indicate this in the recognition.
