Erik ten Hag gets a new job a good five months after his dismissal from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Dutchman will be joining the first division club Twente Enschede in his home country on February 1st and will be technical director there from the 2026/27 season.

Ten Hag (55) has a contract until 2028. He only took over as head coach at Bayer last summer, but was fired after just three competitive games.

“With my experience in youth work, team building and top-class sports culture, I would like to strengthen the technical basis of FC Twente together with the supervisory board, management and employees,” he said.

The goal is for the two-time Dutch champion to “sustainably exploit its potential as a regional figurehead.”
