New in the database: Season 19/20 of the División Profesional Clausura

…better and better!

The 2019/20 season of the Bolivian División Profesional Clausura is now available in the transfer market database. Club Jorge Wilstermann became champions, for whom it was the 15th title. The Strongest La Paz and Bolívar La Paz followed in second and third place. Two players were awarded the top scorer award. Both the Spaniard Juanmi Callejón and the Colombian Jair Reinoso scored 19 goals each.

Their footprints were left every season by, among others, ex-national player Carlos Saucedo, who also impressed at the age of 40 and contributed 18 goals for Club Deportivo San José. Former Bundesliga professional John Jairo Mosquera was at Royal Pari at the time and scored eleven goals in 22 games. Martin Smedberg Dalence, ex-Bolivia international, played for Club Always Ready and scored one goal in 13 appearances. That winter he left Bolivia and went back to his native Sweden, where he ended his career with Utsiktens BK in 2021/22.

San José was deducted six points during the season due to outstanding salary payments to, among others, Reinoso. In addition, Sport Boys was excluded from the championship because the team did not appear at the last game against Real Potosí. In addition, the club also lost six points, this time again due to outstanding salary payments. Worth mentioning: On the 22nd matchday, the Aurora club only played against Bolívar La Paz with youth footballers, not a single player was on the substitutes’ bench. In the end they lost 0:5.
