The Intersport International trade association has launched a new storage format, which is entirely geared towards football products.
The “Intersport Football” concept celebrated its premiere last Thursday with the opening of a first branch in the Greek capital Athens. Intersport now offers selected football articles from well-known international brands on an area of 1,200 square meters. The range is supplemented by an indoor football field, an interactive video wall and a gaming area.

The new format is now to be rolled out across Europe. Ten to twenty branches are currently planned, Intersport International said in a message on Monday. Further new openings are already planned for the current and coming year.
With the football concept, the commercial network is expanding its range of special formats that concentrate on individual categories such as running and winter sports. The opening of the first branch is “an important milestone as part of our global expansion,” emphasized Corinne Gensollen, the board of directors of Intersport International Corporation GmbH, in a statement.
