Not long now and then the sequel to “Game of Thrones” will start. However, “House Of The Dragon” provides something like the prequel to the fantasy epic with which HBO created one of the biggest series hits of the past 20 years.

Since then, the fantasy genre has boomed again, with a new series version of “Lord of the Rings”, the remake of “Dune” and all sorts of other developments. But of course there is not enough material. That’s where a new fantasy podcast comes in handy: “Race of Kings”.

The plot: The king of Theronia is dead. Now the continental kingdoms of Bjørnsgard, Stromlings and the desert region of Nei fight for the succession. But for the first time there seems to be a rightful heir to the throne from the Abyss. Evil threatens to take over.

The gripping story is supported by some strong voices that will delight lovers of the genre. Among others, Patrick Roche (known as Jon Snow from “Game of Thrones”), Eckart Dux (Gandalf from the “Lord of the Rings” films) and the German dubbing voice of Jamie Foxx, Charles Rettinghaus, can be heard.

The theme “Battle of the Heroes” was composed by Rasmus Borowski and performed by the Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Note: “Wettlauf der Könige” is published by “Axel Springer Audio” – the publisher to which ROLLING STONE also belongs.
