New corona cases at BR Volleys

The top game of the volleyball Bundesliga between the front runners Berlin Volleys and the SWD powervolleys Düren, planned for January 6th, has been canceled.

Because three players at the capital club again tested positive for the corona virus, both clubs and the volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) management have agreed to postpone the game. It should now take place on January 9th (3:00 p.m.) in the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin.

On December 20, the BR Volleys went into quarantine due to several corona cases within the team. “There were consistently mild courses of the disease,” said managing director Kaweh Niroomand of the German press agency. The quarantine expired at the beginning of the week.

Whether the summit against Düren can actually take place depends heavily on whether no further virus infections are found in the players in the daily PCR tests.
