Of all the provinces, the least homes were added in Drenthe last year. This is according to figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). It concerns 1500 new homes in our province.
The home number rose the fastest in the municipality of Westerveld (+1.3 percent) with 116 new -build homes. In total numbers, Assen rises above the province, with 329 new homes. This means that the range of housing in that municipality grew by 1 percent.
Nationally, most homes were delivered in 2024 in South Holland. Almost 18,000 were added in that province.
The city where most homes were added in absolute numbers was not in South Holland. That was Amsterdam, where 6400 houses were realized. The capital thus contributed to the increase in Noord-Holland: this province was in second place with nearly 16,700 homes. Amsterdam is followed by Rotterdam, where 4500 homes were added last year.
The total number of homes that was realized in the Netherlands in 2024 amounted to 82,000, notes Statistics Netherlands. According to the Statistics Office, the number of new homes was at the lowest level in six years, while the cabinet strives for 100,000 new homes annually.
