New collective agreement for the German leather goods, plastic goods and luggage industry

Representatives of the German leather goods, plastic goods and luggage industry have been able to agree on new tariffs with the industrial union for mining, chemicals and energy (IG BCE).

A collective agreement was reached on the first day of negotiations on Wednesday, the Federal Association of the Shoe and Leather Goods Industry eV (HDS/L) announced on Thursday, describing the results as “reasonable”.

“Compared to the current collective bargaining developments in related sectors and also with a view to the current work situation, we have achieved a result that is acceptable for both sides in constructive discussions,” said Manfred Junkert, Managing Director of HDS/L.

From August 1st, the fees from salary group 5 will be increased by 150 euros. Amounts between 2,100 and 2,330 euros were agreed for groups E1 to E4 – with an increase of 100 euros from October 2024.
